The Belle Haven Garden Club is open to all Belle Haven Women’s Club members. Our current 65 members include 4 Master Gardeners; we meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the months of January, March, May, June, August and September for coffee and good food; and to discuss our gardens and topics of horticultural interest.

Dumbarton Oaks Gardens Field Trip April 11, 2012
Cloud Terrace, Dumbarton Oaks Terrace Garden, Wed April 11
The Garden Club had a very successful trip to Dumbarton Oaks. Although most of the narcissus, scilla and all of the cherry trees were past bloom due to our unseasonably warm temps, we were able to view a major shrub renovation on the grounds, a beautiful display of tulips, pansies and perennials in the herbaceous border, and wonderful displays of wisteria. A stand-out installation was the Cloud Terrace sculpture by scuptors Andy Cao and Xavier Perrot composed of a wire mesh cloud suspended over the terrace and hung with 10,000 Swarovski water drop crystals ver a mirroring reflecting pool. We saw this sculpture on a cloudy day–a return trip during a sunny day revealed that the crystals reflect the light in a rainbow of color:
