Margret:

Thank you for your kind words and your invitation to visit White Flower Farm.

White Flower Farm and I go back a long way. The first garden book I ever bought was the 1971 hardback The White Flower Farm Garden Book by Amos Pettingill. I refer to it when I'm gardening to this day.

I continue to be an advocate of your catalog, and recommend you to fellow gardeners and clients.

It was such a treat to see the mention of White Flower Farm in your article on bulbs on the Huntington-BelleHaven Patchlast week. Your article was both informative and inspiring about how to use bulbs. Hopefully that means that there will be many Virginia gardens with spring bulbs blooming next year! If you ever come to the northwest corner of Connecticut, I’d be happy to show you around the farm. Our retail store will close for the season in November, but until then, there are lots of wonderful things to see.

Thanks again for mentioning us and happy gardening!

If it is growing in full sun with well drained soil it will probably not need to be cut back. If it is in part sun and tends to get leggy--that's when this early pruning is a good idea. Just be sure your agastache has not set its bloom heads first.
